Press Release – Today, Printix is pleased to announce the official release of its premium cloud-based print management product, Printix Freedom. Capable of centrally managing all printers and printing, Printix aims to fundamentally improve the efficiency and cost of office printing and make print management accessible to everyone.

“Our vision started around three zeroes – zero print server, zero management and zero cost. We want to take the tedious and costly management part out of print management,” said Hugo Marqvorsen, a Printix co-founder (and former SafeCom co-founder). Manual IT-related and back-office issues, like having to maintain a local print server and managing print drivers, are now automated in the Printix freeware product, Printix Zero, released by the company earlier this year.

A Printix Freedom subscription enables users to print to any network printer from any device and includes a secure printing feature, to release confidential documents at the printer from mobile phones. In essence, getting this secure printing feature reveals how easy and cost efficient Printix technology really is compared to traditional Pull Print / Follow Me software solutions.

Printix Freedom is deployed in a matter of minutes instead of hours. Likewise, it’s not necessary to install vendor specific software, proprietary drivers, ID card readers or to even have a print server or application server. Instead, the Printix cloud securely manages the print infrastructure and automates admin tasks involving printers, users, devices and usage. The new solution will create unprecedented convenience and costs savings for companies of any size.

Marqvorsen continues: “With the adoption of cloud applications continuing to grow, like Microsoft Office 365, consumers expect to have more convenient options for printing and print management – but at a cost that suits them. Print infrastructure and IT-support often represent significant amounts to the total print management cost. Our solution is purposely designed using the technologies made affordable by cloud computing and mobile phones – it’s fit for purpose, and allows for the cost savings to be passed on to the customer”.

With its simple and affordable solution, Printix plans to satisfy customers in the SMB market, while opening up new opportunities for businesses such as IT-resellers, IT-services, managed print services or cloud service providers.
