The Need to Secure Printing Services for Cloud Based Systems

Cloud Based Systems and Printing are often at opposite ends of an organization’s Information management infrastructure. In the move to Cloud Based Systems with the drive to become digital, printing remains one of the last bastions of an organization’s infrastructure which cannot be completely virtualized. Indeed the whole purpose of print is the production of physical documents to encapsulate digital data.

On Tuesday 17th January 2017 Theresa May outlined her approach to Brexit, confirming that as part of this process, existing EU laws in force in the UK would be converted into full UK laws. This effectively, means that the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation or GDPR will be law in the UK, too. Regardless of our date of exit from the EU, organisations will face the penalties of the EUGDPR from 25th May 2018 giving minimal time for preparation.
